The Campus Center for Advising and Academic Services has been
developed as part of the University
of Illinois’ strategic
plan to strengthen the essential academic services of advising and
mentoring. The CCAAS has been
administratively repositioned under the aegis of the Office of the Provost and physically
relocated to the fifth floor of the Illini Union Bookstore building.
It will
serve as the administrative hub of the Division of General Studies (formerly
know as LAS General Curriculum),
the enrollment program for students who want to explore their academic
options before declaring their majors and for students in transition between colleges and/or majors.
The Center’s
campus-wide mission is to assist all undergraduate students in exploring
academic opportunities, making informed decisions about major options, and
easing through the transfer process. The Center is fully committed to
promoting academic success and retention and increasing the variety of
curricula to which students have access.
